Sennheiser Asia (Singapore) is proud to announce local singer-songwriter Shirlyn Tan, as its latest Brand Ambassador, joining its elite lineup of artists worldwide. As part of Sennheiser’s campaign to promote and support local talents, Shirlyn Tan was picked simply because of her stage charisma and crystal clear vocals.
After the success of her sold-out Late Night concert and opening act for Jason Mraz at The Esplanade, Shirlyn, sometimes known as ‘the small girl with the big voice’ has not looked back since. With her first album, named Newfound Jealousy, due out in March, she is set to take the music scene by storm with a series of original compositions. To ensure an uncompromising superior sound, acclaimed producer - sound engineer Leonard Soosay recorded all 10 songs on the album exclusively with Sennheiser and Neumann microphones, the latter being part of the Sennheiser Group.
Sennheiser Asia’s Managing Director, Mr S.F Ho says, “We are always ready to provide a platform for deservingly talented artistes to move on to the upper echelons of their career and with an uncanny ability to deliver both emotive ballads and power packed rock classics at ease, Shirlyn is no doubt a sparkling gem which stands out distinctly in the music industry of today”.
As the lead singer with local band The UnXpected, Shirlyn’s fan base ranges from the young, to those still young at heart. Shirlyn will be using the cardiod state-of-the-art professional evolution 935 vocal microphone, designed to cut through high on-stage levels. With its capability to produce powerful sound with presence boost for improved vocal intelligibility. It also comes with hum compensating coil and shock-mounted capsule. Designed for demanding, uncompromising professional use, it is excellent for perfect pitch delivery.
Shirlyn also uses the 300 series evolution wireless G2 vocal set, which is capable of delivering big, assertive powerful sound, yet sensitive enough to capture even the softest note. With nine frequency banks, and eight presets, each Sennheiser system, notorious for being feed-back resistant brings the best out of any performance, big or small. The ew 365 condenser supercardiod microphone will be used in Shirlyn’s performances, where mobility is important.
“I am thrilled to be endorsed by Sennheiser as I am assured of a good quality microphone on a stage, big or small. I trust the microphones will bring out a better delivery, with the comfort of trusting the quality of the product. I was sold the moment I recorded with the Neumann! Thank you!,” says Shirlyn Tan.
Shirlyn will be launching her official website www.shirylntan.com where her fans can get to know her better, as well as be informed of her latest events and appearances. She will also be appearing in a series of island wide promotional activities in support of her new album.
