Bossanova Princess croons with Sennheiser
July 2008

July 2008 – Sennheiser Asia (Singapore) welcomes Singapore's very own Bossanova princess, Olivia Ong, to the Sennheiser family. She will be joining its elite lineup of artistes worldwide in Sennheiser's continuous effort to promote and support aspiring local talents.

Talent spotted by a Japanese promoter in Singapore at the age of 15, she moved to Japan upon completion of her 'O' levels to pursue a singing career. Olivia was part of the now defunct girl group Mirai. Making waves across the region, she has made her name crooning bossanova tunes in Japan, and her albums are well received in Korea, Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore. Since her debut album, Olivia has already released four solo albums including the latest, Fall In Love With Olivia.

Sennheiser Asia's Managing Director, Mr S.F Ho says, "We are always on the lookout for rising young talent in the local scene. Olivia stood out because of her soulful yet pristine vocals and promising star quality".

Olivia will be using the cardiod state-of-the-art professional evolution 935 vocal microphone, designed to cut through high on-stage levels. Highly sensitive to feedback and handling noise, it also comes with hum compensating coil and shock-mounted capsule. Designed for demanding, uncompromising professional use, it is excellent for perfect pitch delivery.

Olivia also uses the 100 series evolution wireless G2 vocal set, which is capable of delivering big, assertive powerful sound, yet sensitive enough to capture even the softest note. With nine frequency banks, and four presets, each Sennheiser system, notorious for being feedback resistant brings the best out of any performance, big or small. The ew 165 condenser supercardiod microphone will be used in Olivia's performances, where mobility is important.

"I think it's great and exciting to have Sennheiser's endorsement. As a recording artiste, it is important to be comfortable with the audio equipment I use and feel good about even on stage as well. I have no qualms working closely with Sennheiser which is a world renowned audio electronics brand," says Olivia Ong.

Fans and music lovers alike can look forward to Olivia's singing appearances in many parts of Asia. Also in the pipeline are plans to work on a new album which we can anticipate to be released next year. Album details will be released once it has been finalized.
